possibly one for the Admins: has the search function been tweaked / improved ? so we don't need the google search anymore (because that was very good (Hint))!?

I have been offered a choice of a TE20 , Or a 35 or select one of a pair of 65's. We're looking for a smallish tractor which nevertheless has sufficient hydraulic flow to power a front loader and in a perfect world a log splitter. Obviously not at the same time. I haven't the budget for the ridiculous price of a new machine and I've already made the mistake 4 years ago of buying a new compact tractor which was too small for what we learnt through experience , we later needed. We only have a small farm but an underpowered tractor is still useless whether you have 10 or 100 acres. We would love an old MF, but they just don't cut it. So we thought maybe a MF 135 but even then I read comments that they are a B to steer if you have a FEL but no power steering. Suggestions have included Ford and DB. We have stone to shift, hay to cut, process and bale.Timber to drag back to the barn for milling, rolling, harrowing, seeding but no ploughing but also log splitting and all the usual general duties on a farm. The tractor is also meant to be a hobby/ project to replace sailing which is too much for my aching (aging) bones.
Thanks.

How to search the forum.......

Touch or click the search area / magnifying glass icon , then touch or click on the 'Advanced search' blue box
In the Advanced search area at the bottom is the 'google custom search of the faming forum'

In the box at the bottom, type 'Massey 135 ' or whatever .....

Thank you, tried what you've said and it's perfect.

To be honest after what you have described you want to do with it I would of thought a Massey 135 would be an ideal little tractor, I love grey fergies, great turning circle perfect In a yard, easy to maintain, plentiful spares man enough to do a variety of jobs. However lack of live hydraulics can be a pain, as can not having a dual clutch and if not used with Ferguson implements they can perform not as well. Massey Ferguson 35 great tractor if 3 cylinder, the right 4 cylinder can be fine if it's been looked after if worn a bugger to start. Does everything grey fergie will with the advantage of live hydraulics, dual clutch etc. Don't know much about 65s never used or owned one. The 135 is the ultimate grey fergie really fantastic tractor and very capable.
David brown selectamatic range all nice capable tractors although not keen on stupid narrow doors on the cabs!
