how do people mix seeds up? I don't want to to do it with a cement mixer as we have too much to do.
neighbour has a mixer wagon thing for cows, would this work?
If not is there anything on the market?

I believe @Richard III uses an old Keegan feeder.

Yes I use an old keenan feeder I bought for £1000, as does @No Worries , he gave me the idea.

I use mine for cover crop mixes, mixing OSR and DAP, and nutrient dressings on home saved seed. It works great and the weigh scales also come in really useful. The only problem is it doesn't empty completely and I have to get in to clear the last out, I am planning one or two small mods to improve this though.

In the Scottish trials where they were mixing wheat varieties together, they found the best results came from a very cursory mix, ie half a ton of this one, half a ton of that and a bit of the other in the drill. Too homogenous a mix, for some reason, didn't give the best disease resistance or most improved yield

Just chuck the seed in the hopper and go. Provided you don't put too much of any one variety in at once it will mix itself, certainly in an accord type hopper. I think it's because the metering unit draws seed down through the centre of the hopper it mixes it as it goes. I have drilled lots of pheasant cover plots like this and always came up ok, all well mixed.
