Seeking a shedding terminal

In or around Lancashire if possible.
Ideally Exlana/Texel cross or similar.
Don't mind too much on age, he's only covering 40 ewes.
Thanks
Could do you a texel cross exlana but rather a long way from you unfortunately. Worth looking for this cross as a lot of the half breds are complete shedders and some part. We used a couple of these ram lambs to sweep up last year cracking lambs out of shedder ewes. Good luck.

Thank you.
Yes, you are a fair way away. I may contact you if one doesn't come up closer though if that's OK.
Thanks ?

Thanks for the tag. I replied to the @FrazzledMummyFarmer started in the livestock forum on this topic. If she wants a shedding tup with high growth and muscle EBVs plus two copies of myomax, she knows where to come ?

Thanks Woolless. Yeah, you are even further away than PGK. You're 3.5hrs either way!
Looks like I may have to travel to find something suitable. Thanks both of you :)

@hendrebc mentioned someone near to him that was selling Easycare x Peeling Texel rams a week or two ago. That breeder is near Wrexham if that’s close enough to you, but I’ve no idea how ‘terminal’ they might be so I’ll leave it to him to give you details.
We put a couple of half texel half exlana ram lambs to a bunch of shedder ewes this time and the lambs are slightly woolly but shedding now at 9 to 13 weeks. Obviously not as shapely as the half breds but very obviously carrying texel Gene's by their shape.

How did those lambs work out ? Was thinking about this recently. Always liked temperament of the texels here. Never jumped fences and just grunted at me when handling instead of going mad and trying to clear the penning. I had to give up on them in the end because they didnt work in a outdoor unassisted lambing setup. But I can imagine a ewe with had all the benefits of a easycare or exlana with the docile temperament of a texel ?? Maybe someday.

Have killed a few in last few weeks, as usual at farmers fresh only a few U's mainly R's but good weights, averaging 19.5kg dwt across mainly pure shedders and a few 1/4 texels in the mix all off grass/clover and milk alone. Put some halfbreds in the market but disappointed this time with price so will maybe tickle some of them into farmers fresh.
IME Texels are very easy to manage as they just amble about, crosses have a bit more life and are definitely milkier. putting some 1/4 texel rams to pure shedder ewes this time and suspect the 1/8 th shedder ewe will be ideal, combination of length, meat and structure. In fairness few issues with lambing the half breds put to exlana outside alongside the pure shedders. Hopefully with increasing percentage of ewes carry the myomax gene the killing out rates will keep on improving without any loss of easycare attributes and maybe a bit more chilled from the Texel. As a contrast we have bought some shapely MV accredited Exlana ewes to keep pure and compare their offspring with those we have tickled Texel genetics into.
