Seized on wheel nuts

Evening all, got a flat Lorry trailer with commercial axles in the workshop that I want to service hubs brakes etc, but I can not budge the wheel nuts!! Big impacter, bars etc won't touch em. Mate of mine suggested letting the tyre right down and heating up the nuts with oxy but I'm just a bit concerned about this, he did say use a little plumbers gas torch to heat em as well if oxy was to fierce. I'm still not convinced it's a great idea anyone got any suggestions. TIA.

But they will be fine, if you heat quick and hit with the gun. Let them cool in the air .....
Heat. Then cool. Fast till they stop fizzing. Best way. Then do again. Then inch drive t bar on impact socket and have made an adjustable support to go under extension Then long pipe with eye on top. Then short bit of Strap to tele boom. Pull boom in it either gives or shears. If it gives then inch drive windy usually takes them , any sheared. Just take hub off punch out sheared stud and put new in. Don't be frightened of giving it heat. Do you have a pepper pot. To go on gas. But if just doing brakes take hub and wheels of in one unit

Heat nut red hot, crack it then let it cool while moving to the next.

If too hot threads can pick up when undoing.

May need to heat more than once if a real pain.

just get a big bar and give it a tweak with the telehandler if muscle power isn't enough. if it shears do as above.

Some say I can be a bit heavy handed in similar situations:whistle::whistle:

I wouldn't do any heating work on a tyre on the rim. Its not worth the candle. Even if you let the air out, the bead will be sealed and if a pyrolosis reaction starts it will expand the air in the tyre faster than it could possibly get out of the valve.

Iv often welded tractor wheel centres where they crack between the studs, il be taking tyre off next time!

Heating the nuts red hot and cooling super fast will shake the rust. Usually best throwing the part in a bucket of water tho for top results but a good flowing hose will do as well.
