Currently using a contractor but considering buying our own beet harvester

Any advice on brand and spec would be appreciated

*ideally lift as & when we want it, so 25 - 50 acre lifts from Oct - March

I’m guessing £75 - £100k (£150k tops for something very cleanthat would see us good service

Don’t think we will work anything too hard compared to larger acreage outfits - more so to find something reliable, reasonably LGP and will run in medium soils

Last year, when we had draught ironically, we had quite a few small beet which the harvester left behind - I’d like to avoid that if there’s a particular set up that suited to harder ground or smaller beet

Contractor has a fairly old 17 tonne Vervaet

I forget where I saw it, but there was a refurbished Agrifac WKM9000 for sale a bit back for about £70k.

You'll pick up a 15yo 8000hr Vervaet for 35k ish, but it'll likely want 10k spending on it. It'll lift 300acres a year for a long time though.

If looking at older machines id budget for some breakdowns, most are run fairly hard by contractors. Would a decent trail be a better option on that area ?‍♂️
