Hi all, what are the legalities of this? I just spoke to a neighbour who told me to be careful about running a business off my property... The property is a working farm so kinda already is... I think he meant that I should be paying tax or something on it, which is fair enough and if I am supposed to then I would rather be the right side of the law on it. Any advice please. thanks in advance

If they are sited there for an indefinite period then they would be considered permanent and would need planning.
You would also need change of use from agricultural to commercial storage.

you definitely need planning permission they are also ratabale at quite a high value so a relatively modest size would come in over the £12k small business rates relief threshold if you are in a position to claim it

Depends how much the neighbours look over the hedge.

Keep it low key, get green ones, try not to make traffic flow jump up to much so highways get excited and try a few.

Depending on your location these can pay for themselves in 2 years.

If you plan to put them inside to keep sat images away, bare in mind opportunity cost of the building they go in!

Lastly find the closest port and get quotes from people based there, cheaper haulage.
