Sending multiple texts

Is there an easy way to send a group of people the same text? From laptop maybe? The phone numbers are not all entered on my mobile which I suppose would make it easier but there is a limit how many names you can send to at once.

How many folks in the group you need to send a text?

On the message function on my phone I can just keep adding recipients, then just type the message and presto it’s all done.

There are commercial “bulk” SMS services, but these are really aimed for sending big marketing comms to a mass audience. Not what I expect you’d need in this case.

Late to see this, but if its a regular thing to specific groups, then Whatsapp takes some beating. It takes all the selected contact details from your contacts list basically. You can make any number of different groups with most of the same people or different ones and name them something distinct, so you don't send messages to the wrong group.
Also works for individuals of course. Especially good for picture and voice files, because it works through the internet not through SMS text, which charge extra for pictures.

I wanted to send a text to all my contacts (after sponsorship for a charity thing I did) it was not as easy as I thought using an iphone. Ended up with an app called Text2Group pro. It does work well you create a group from your contacts and it will send a mass text message. 2 words of warning, if you are not careful it will text landlines, the recipient will end up with an annoying speaking text. Also if you are sending over 100 texts it takes a long time for your phone to send them, so you end up with contacts getting speaking texts at 2AM. That didnt go down well :bag:

Whatever "platform" you choose, everyone that receives the message will need to have the "app" installed etc. No great shakes, just something to remember.

Text/SMS is still the universal default because every phone (including spoken text service on landlines) basically supports it.

Just make sure its texts for personal use and not business related in any way or the legals kick in. You need to have consent to mass text customers etc.

UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations sets out the legal framework.
