And no references as to how you leave CS early to join SFI24 on 1st Jan 25... more details being published this afternoon on SFI or UK CS 24 as i call it!!
To access the native breed supplement , I need to change my Organic CS agreement to a SFI one🙄
Why not say Native breeds could supplement either? To easy I suppose.

What is all this BS I've seen written in the herbal ley, unharvested cereal headland and the legume fallow rules:

That reads to me that if you are doing something for the first time, you cannot rotate it. What is the point in that, and why would they want to make it so unattractive? I thought they were onto a good thing at last but what with the 25% limit on the good options, and not being allowed to rotate, this looks disgustingly unappealing again. Absolute jokers.

I would imagine that's to actually deliver some soil benefits. A ley down for one summer doesn't really do much root building.

I was planning on a 2 year herbal ley to fit around the arable, and stop too much build up of soil pests between crops. This has buggered that idea up. Not sure what's wrong with a 2 year ley, it's what organic farm rotations were built on.

Organic lot recommend a 3yr ley... BPS was easy money.. this is subversive influence and with crap food prices... it is working for the Gov.UK is it not??

So there's now a two tier system in place?

You must establish a multi-species cover crop on land entered into this action which will not be harvested as a ‘cash crop’.

A ‘cash crop’ means a crop grown to be harvested for commercial use.

The above is now in the multi species winter cover, so Janet's word was worth not very much after all.....

I’ve just had a read; it’s clumsy wording but I think it means established by end of June. The next paragraph is slightly better articulated and confirms it.
‘Established’ is a poor word. It could mean drilled OR established as in growing.

Looks like on the new winter bird food want it flowering by end of June!
You are alright for the next 2 years at least @Clive

An interesting difference to the current version though is that it can only form ‘part’ of a parcel; rather than the whole area…I wonder if they’re hoping to have 25% within all parcels rather than 25% of parcels!!

Just noticed the part parcel bit, was planning on putting some small parcels (around 1-2ha each) in to this, now I can't. So why is a 1ha parcel not OK but 5ha in a 10ha field fine? Can I claim 0.9999 ha in a 1ha field? What a balls up. If they don't want blocks over say 5ha fine, but surely whole small parcels would be fine?? Everything I was planning has now been changed!
