It will kill the processing sector. Then in 5 years time when the money tree is turned off there will not be the infrastructure in place to ramp production back up.
Nobody can seem to see it thoughIt will kill the processing sector. Then in 5 years time when the money tree is turned off there will not be the infrastructure in place to ramp production back up.
Depends on the % going into SFI.It will kill the processing sector. Then in 5 years time when the money tree is turned off there will not be the infrastructure in place to ramp production back up.
Was a lot more farmland about back then. Middle England is one big car park now.Depends on the % going into SFI.
If 10% or less & more on poorer land will it make so much difference. Set a side at 15% did not.
Terrible attitude. It’s not the powers that be that will suffer.I need longer care.....'let the powers that be reap what they sow'
whats that got to do with SFI and the like?one big car park now.
Depends whether as much can be produced off the land tied up in schemes which I doubt especially in the case of livestock. You can see by the number of slaughterhouses and markets that have closed over recent years it is an industry in decline.Depends on the % going into SFI.

Certainly noticeable here. Down to 120ac arable with close to 850 in SFi / mid tier. What effect do you really think it will have on farm output? I’d be surprised if it’s even noticeable
Both factors in removing product for processors. Lack of processors is the biggest threat to UK ag.whats that got to do with SFI and the like?
but the processors of grain do so even now with imported , even more will be imported why will it make any difference ?Certainly noticeable here. Down to 120ac arable with close to 850 in SFi / mid tier.
Five years ago were farming 2500ac. That stopped when we were given the cost to replace a combine.
Yeah, it was tricky soil. But high output. That required high input. Now we end up with more £££ out for less in, and less tied up in tin. Calmer lives and more time.
I'd be surprised if anyone looking to rent land out on an fbt wasn't better off putting it in a stewardship scheme.
That said, it seems like very few are actually applying at the moment. Can only presume that they will put the rates up, which we will benefit from anyway.
Next on the agenda will be this BNG.
The i hope you have posted the equivalent type of opening post on the 'builders, developers and council planners forum'Both factors in removing product for processors. Lack of processors is the biggest threat to UK ag.

Builders, developers and Council planners aren’t really interested in the long term sustainability of UK farming. You would hope farmers are.The i hope you have posted the equivalent type of opening post on the 'builders, developers and council planners forum'
They won’t allow it to be returned to agricultural production if people aren’t careful. It will kill the processing sector. Then in 5 years time when the money tree is turned off there will not be the infrastructure in place to ramp production back up.
Blame is a pointless word. Control what you can control.they'll have to take the blame
