For any counter punchers out there give INSW a try. Crude tankers are currently contracting for $5k a day but have been up to $100k a day in the past so lots of room for growth.
Is that via the website you buy and sell on or some independant scheme you have taken out?Any portfolio up to £1mil is insured
Indeed but 41% is nowt to shout about in crypto terms, 4100% would be more like it, and due to its volatile nature you can put on 40% in a week or less, just have to look at the historical graphs to see that, also goes down as quick too!!!Best investment last year was paid for in October @41% of what its value and sold on for on Jan 2nd, 22 good old CF
It's taken out by eToro and will be paid for out of the spread they take. Spread being the gap between actual current price and purchase price which is typically around 2.5-3%Is that via the website you buy and sell on or some independant scheme you have taken out?
Reading this thread a year ago spurred me on to something I had been thinking about for a while but was unsure how to get started. I opened up a stocks and shares ISA using the AJ Bell platform and have a mixture of funds and shares.i have found it really interesting and have made much more than the money just sitting in a bank account. Its been a nice distraction from the day job too. Thanks to all who post here
As Clive said, we may regret not getting involved and this seems a lazy Mandy way of doing it. Got Morrisons money to reinvest somewhere.
Any hot tips?!
I would say Nvidia and AMD will keep going as strong as they have, they remain the underpinning foundation of crypto and the internet in general but still have value even if that all does crash, we are only going to need processing power more and ,more in the future
Spires Healthcare has also been good for me over the last 12 months - private healthcare has a big future IMO as the NHS fails more and can't cope with the terrible health and obesity of our nation as it ages
bit of a higher risk punt right now is Electra Private Equity Plc - I bought juts before Christmas at 60p based on a trip from friend with some knowlage (69p today) - they are splitting Hotter out and its looks undervalued (some say near 100% undervalued). risky one but could do well ........... don't bet your house on it however !
All the big pharma co's are worth having a interest in I think - if / when one of them finds a cure for or tablet vaccination etc they will be worth serious money
I apply the Warren Buffet method of investment ...... simply ask yourself what are people doing / going to do or need more of
Disclaimer !!! - My advice here is worth as much as you just paid for it !
Got Spire! Only up 10% since I’ve had them though. My thinking was that if the NHS continues to struggle with waiting times on ops people will go private.
I know several folk who aren’t exactly wealthy who are thinking of going private for minor ops rather than wait.
Interesting r.e Electra!

Glencore shares are up 20 ish % worried i had got it wrong as they were down for ages after i bought them. AJ Bell global growth fund has been steady away all year at 6-8% return. Crypto looks way too scary for a beginner like myself!Any hot tips?!
That is what I look at, most of my shares give a better return than the same money in the bankDont forget in all this the dividends, some just keep rolling in whatever the "weather".. once you have a good investment in some you dont have to be always monitoring and dont have all the costs of chopping and changing which shares you have.
Keeping it under the bed would also be better than the bank or ns&i ?That is what I look at, most of my shares give a better return than the same money in the bank
Not yet, interest is very low but still positive.Keeping it under the bed would also be better than the bank or ns&i ?
£10 on 10k ant positive. Not yet, interest is very low but still positive.
Be grateful, there were serious plans to charge for holding money in banks, but inflation may save the day!£10 on 10k ant positive.
Cost more to borrow 10k than a tenner though???Be grateful, there were serious plans to charge for holding money in banks, but inflation may save the day!
Got to be careful with those value traps though that lure you in with a big dividend yield, then erode it with destruction of the share price as they are basically liquidating the company in a sunset industry.Dont forget in all this the dividends, some just keep rolling in whatever the "weather".. once you have a good investment in some you dont have to be always monitoring and dont have all the costs of chopping and changing which shares you have.
