Sheep handling on outlying blocks

Had the opportunity to rent around 12 acres of land nearby, which is exactly what I was after. It’s an arable farm so they have no handling facilities, the fields are 2ac and 2x 5ac all separate. I could potentially move sheep between the 2ac and one of the 5ac along a road. How do other folks handle sheep when they’re all spread out! Not after buying a 7.5k mobile handling system!

When working on sheep away from the fank, I use a collection that I've amassed over the years, of mismatching hurdles and old field gates, trailered to a corner and all tied together with bits of old rope and string, a big pen and a small pen to work in, letting them out as they're done. It's not that bad really, obviously not as easy to handle sheep, but with practice you get good at setting it up strong enough, it only takes 10-15 mins. I'd love a shiny mobile handling system but can't justify it at all.

You need plenty/good dogs/kids to push a lot of sheep and lambs into a small pen though.

When I can I try and put 10 sheep in a field of that size and they can stay there for a long time, if on a country road and you have a ifor box of some sort, 2 hurdles off the end of the ramps and park it on the road using the hedges to funnel.
