it's hard to impossible to get someone to show up to shear two sheep ... will buy my own shears and do it myself... I won't be buying a 500 buck machine.. just something to do my two twice a year...
I see 550..650.. 1000..and 1200 watt machines.. and different blade configurations..
can someone set me straight please ?

If it’s just the two, a battery powered hand piece has got to be your best bet:

They’ll advice you on the best comb and cutter for the job as well I’m sure.

If it’s just 2 sheep you own, buy a set of jakoti hand shears. Of course it will be slower, but so what. It will cost you approx £22 , and you can use them the rest of the year to tidy up any dags etc . They are super bits of kit. If you want to pimp them up a bit you can buy a snazzy holster for them too !

I would agree with that. I've bought 3 pairs so far and so far one was taken by sis, one by my shepherd and the third one has been snaffled by Mrs Y for the garden. I'm not going to try again!

This is what happens here, Mrs Fred makes me buy a new pair each year for her show sheep, then the old ones move down the line to dagging, then greenhouse. I have to paint the garden ones green now to show they have been relegated.
As our numbers increased, I bought a refurbished 12v set from Horners which runs off the car battery, and I do most with that at a leisurely pace a few each evening. I'm on my second year now and feel much more confident. The handpiece is an ancient Lister Golden, but I'm aiming to make up a whole vintage set to run from a 3hp stationary engine.

Send pics please I need some light entertainment in this madhouse over here!
hard to get to...they have a big job ahead of them... thinking about a couple more... ewes are pretty hard to find and priced accordingly....

From what I can see they look well sheared. Bigger immediate problem is lack of rain, out in the country we are to a degree sheltered from the worst of covid19 although my wife, a nurse, is seeing big numbers of deaths. Unfortunately the clowns we call a government have well and truly stuffed us and we can now expect a second spike of cases. Hopefully you in Germany have it under control.

just brought them home ....they got me 2 nice little pieces of around with wish ponds and a little Camping /Party house...
coolest part about them (gotta tell myself this)
I got the boss lady to thinking they were just a burden instead of pets... and something must be wrong because they didn't reproduce.... she said we had to sell them...
I swallowed my joy and satisfaction... grabbed the camera and went to take pictures for the advertisement....
got there and she had a lamb that was just standing up.... needless to say.... they are staying now....
will have a couple more questions soon....
