Interestingly quite a few vet meds are out of stock on TFF Farm Marketplace

We have had vets buying bulk stock from there the last couple of months so what do there know that we don’t .........

Probably nothing. But they know all hell will break loose with farmer customers if they do not have meds available if Armageddon happens. So if it is in stock so be it. It will get used and just means affects cash flow and purchasing later in the year. Whether they are wise or fools - well only time will tell.

is this the same Armageddon that was going to happen on 31st dec 1999 when we were all going back to the stone age and all the planes would fall out the sky??????

oh yeah, that would be the Armageddon that was averted because every single IT Infrastructure manager in the world (including my own) went through their company's system with a fine tooth comb to identify those nodes that were at risk and to take the appropriate action if required

hundreds of billions were spent worldwide by governments and companies alike to fix this bug. And I don't want to hear any sh!t that the Millennium bug was another 'Project Fear' because we were dealing with absolutes. This was a technical issue that anybody with a computer science qualification could confirm. You think that kind of money is spent on fixing something that is a hoax or a figment of our imagination? Please, sit down and don't embarrass yourself any further

that is all

I’ve ordered some chemicals up front, but only the ones they’re banning this year, eg metaldehyde pellets, fazor, reglone.

I’ve said before on here, I have a friend who works at a agrochem storage facility. They store the chemicals before they go to the distributor. He said they are packed to the rafters with stuff.

is that your definition of a " big wing"

nope, the 'big wing' was a fighter plane tactic deployed during the defence of Blighty against the Luftwaffe (aka Battle of Britain)

what I did was carpet bomb into oblivion your offering that the Millennium bug was some scaremongering Project Fear that turned out to be false

There has been/ is a lot of production issues with meds currently @Clive and these have nothing to do with Brexit.

Two examples off the top of my head is one the most popular vaccine's for Lepto where apparently they were making it but couldn't get it to pass the tests before they could release it and two the most popular drug used for dehorning calves/ C sections etc which apparently the factory where they make it has had to stop production for no other reason than they failed an audit and word has it that it will be 6+ months before they can restart again.

So cue vets volume buying up any stocks of drugs that haven't already been sold.

I was talking to someone a month or so ago who has spent years dealing with retailers, he said that they had been all over the millenium bug with special teams devoted to it, but with brexit nothing, maybe they know something we dont?

as I said in my previous reply, with the Millennium bug we were dealing with absolutes. We knew exactly when it would happen and what steps we had to take to avert it. It was a technical problem so there wasn't any ideology f**kery interfering in the decision-making process

now compare that with Brexit, No one knows for sure if it will even happen, if it does happen what form will it take? and so on and so forth. Furthermore it's purely driven by political and ideology f**kery hampering the decisions that need to be taken to avert disaster at every stage. So here we are.

It will happen it’s called democracy....done and dusted despite all the protestations of project fear.
