This it? It doesn't mention anything about sheep. Do you just syringe it down the throat?

Sorry guys, having other issues this morning. She's just gone and smothered one of her 4 day old triplets and she's in a HUGE pen. I've had 3 aborted lambs 10 days ago and this lot, that's all that's lambed. I could cry, somedays u just have to hate sheep.

Sorry to hear this but she obviously didn’t want three lambs!

Must be the day for it. One of my shearlings has laid on one of her twins this morning too [emoji30][emoji35]

Such a frustrating loss @jemski. We work so hard to save as many as possible and what thanks do we get? Not a lot at times! Sorry to hear u suffered same - we get this occasionally but not normally with 4 day old lambs.

Pleased to say she's much better today. She's taking interest about her today and wanting to get in the big pen with the other sheep. Shame she sat on a lamb but u can't win them all.

What does propolyne glycol do? Every day's a school day!

If sheep or cattle are short of energy they produce ketones, which affects the liver. Symptoms are ‘star gazing’ , separation from flock or herd, and unsteadiness. Breath smells of acetone or pear drops.

Propolyne glycol Or a twin lamb drench, 45 ml at a time , reverses the effect and allows the animal to absorb energy from her feed.
Can occur before lambing / calving or afterwards when the body needs more energy to produce colostrum and then milk.
