Are you wanting a drum mower to cut hay? Or a flail topper to cut weeds etc?Hi. I have purchased a fully working Massey 135 (circa 1978) and am looking for a mower that works to the side of the Massey in order to get to the edges of the fields. Please can someone recommend one that is suitable? Thanks for your help
I currently use a rotary topper. I think it would be best to use a flail topper. Thanks for replyingAre you wanting a drum mower to cut hay? Or a flail topper to cut weeds etc?
Just buy an old PZ drum mower, will be able to cut cleaner and cut to the side of the fence because they are off-set (out the side)I currently use a rotary topper. I think it would be best to use a flail topper. Thanks for replying
Thanks. Some of the area to cut is brambles and large weeds. Will the PZ drum be ok with that?Just buy an old PZ drum mower, will be able to cut cleaner and cut to the side of the fence because they are off-set (out the side)
They are just a couple of belts and drums, minimal maintance required and bulletproof.
If you want to cut brambles and weeds an offset topper is what you needThanks. Some of the area to cut is brambles and large weeds. Will the PZ drum be ok with that?
Thank you for all your help. I will start my research. Any specs you feel I should be looking for? It is not a large piece of land and the tractor is the Massey 135?If you want to cut brambles and weeds an offset topper is what you need
I have the center bracket that attaches the mower to the your tractor If you need oneHi. If that is the majority of work, yes an offset topper like @multipower suggested would work the best. If it is occasional rough usage it will cope fine. We used ours for a number of years to cut rushes and small saplings with used blades and that did the trick, till the end when it met a post in the long grass and bent both drum shafts.Thanks.
