This is our Silage pit face ,put in with a shovel and compactor rolling it no waste at all ,note the different types of grass in the pit by their colours View attachment 746006
Well shetted =no wasteNo there are 2 black sheets on it and further back we have some cling film on it as well as that is just off the ramp
Doesn’t matter what’s on the pit if the man operating is good and it’s sheeted right there will be no waste
First cut precision, 2nd cut wagon. No waste with a wagon either [emoji6] and only hade a 6485 on the pit [emoji50]
Tin hat on [emoji23]View attachment 746222View attachment 746224
This is exactly right but has made me laugh, when I started here, the old boys told me the wetter the better as it was easier to rollMaking silage isn't exactly complicated, dry grass with plenty of sugar and sheet it properly
Oxygen is the enemy
Wet may be easier to roll but not exactly great for fermentationThis is exactly right but has made me laugh, when I started here, the old boys told me the wetter the better as it was easier to roll
