Hows your chopper going @Bald Rick

Sweet as a nut (& got really lucky apparently as JD had a rush order for the 7380 and had no 380hp engines available so stuck in a 660hp instead!!)

It's first run down the swath with son holding a watching brief but now in the drivers seat as I type

Ye I was at a meeting and they strongly recommended tedding behind the mower, we have never done that and yet another thing to convince dad to try and do. But our next door neighbour has a Tedder and has agreed to do it behind the mower. How much do contractors charge? 5£ an acre?
I was taught a lesson by a long time horse hay maker Last year that for top quality, it’s imperitive to ted out ASAP following mowing and or conditioning. There is only about 2 hours before the stomata close up and then the drying out process becomes much slower. Wouldn’t have thought it was so important for silage though

When your son got in the pilot seat did he switch to loading on the CORRECT side?
:whistle::sneaky::D:D

He was comfortable with the trailer on his right hand side so I guess it is whatever suits the driver? Mind, I would not want trailers running close to uncollected swathes if it were me.

Lovely stuff though and I reckon my girls will be like this when they get a taste:

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
