Even though trying to get a price on here is like asking what colour the queens knickers are...I've just paid £40 a ton for very good clean wheat straw loaded onto my trailer out the field
I will add i had to travel 20+ miles east to get it but not much option on that score for me.I payed 52 ton for top quality spring barley baled and loaded onto my trailer, cheap dear ?? i was happy seller was happy all that matters to me.
dont think it will make much odds this year, if you have it they will come
And some of us are another 20 miles East again, and off the main roads too

What did the 5ft ones weigh?I've just brought 166 4ft round bales mixture of wheat and barley straw for £11 a bale loaded onto my trailer from a farm 14 miles away, weighing about 5 bales to the ton, then brought a further 52 5ft round bales wheat straw for £14 per bale, getting told a lot there is a lot being blown straight back onto the fields tho
Just over 4 to a tonWhat did the 5ft ones weigh?
So £48/tJust over 4 to a ton
I thought it was good value but compared to last years the 166 bales I fetched have gone up £2 a bales and the load of 52 delivered had gone up £3 a baleSo £48/t
Mine are around 300 kg each
It might be down next year, tbh I've seen a nation baled, wouldn't surprise me if it drops....anyway I've got all I need so if it goes up or down I ain't worriedI thought it was good value but compared to last years the 166 bales I fetched have gone up £2 a bales and the load of 52 delivered had gone up £3 a bale
