To add to the above post other round bale wheat off farm got to £16/ bale not sold.

Quads at £16/ bale delivered works out at about £48t delivered and the bales at £28.50 delivered works out at £85 ish a ton.

Square bale barley got to £115t delivered ( unsold )

Square bale wheat got to £102 delivered ( unsold )

Fair to say trade was flat and well down on previous sales @Sid @warksfarmer
Where did it say quads at £16?
Rounds maybe
Straw round here is £100/ ton in any type of.

How has it rained non stop for 7 months?
In Nov you were saying (correctly) how dry it was and how everyone was saving straw leaving cattle out!

Had to pay £130 this month. Never paid that much before and hope I don't have to again but plenty have reaped the rewards of holding til now.
where abouts are you in devon ? will you need some more ?

I have some 4ft rounds of barley straw which a nearby dairy farmer would like to buy for calf and young stock bedding. It’s good quality, barn stored and never got rained on.

Would £20 a bale be a fair delivered price? Customer is 4 miles away. Would be selling him c.30 bales.
