And these prices are payed by farmers who live nearby so are a m4s length from reality .it did say not one dealer lifted a hand to bid[emoji23][emoji23] No I just report prices that are actually correct, be that high or low prices.
Thou I think the straw sold yesterday made a good £10/15 acre more at least than what most people were expecting, will be intresting to see what trade is like at tomorrows sale.
It will be farmers living nearby who have mostly their own kit...lots of the grass work is now completed so they have the kit doing nothingAnd these prices are payed by farmers who live nearby so are a m4s length from reality .it did say not one dealer lifted a hand to bid
And no dealer/ haulier profits to come out of it, just farmer's own costs. It will be farmers living nearby who have mostly their own kit...lots of the grass work is now completed so they have the kit doing nothing
a lot going on about the prices paid for standing straw but it depends on the crop, its been over £100/acre before, a few years ago I baled and moved a crop of wheat straw that cost just over £100 that was in the farmers shed for about £80/tonAnd no dealer/ haulier profits to come out of it, just farmer's own costs.
Depends if he's got nothing better to do I guess.
Totally agree with your statementa lot going on about the prices paid for standing straw but it depends on the crop, its been over £100/acre before, a few years ago I baled and moved a crop of wheat straw that cost just over £100 that was in the farmers shed for about £80/ton
can any of the dealers on here deliver and stack straw for £80/ton and that was round bales which were far better and less wasteful for the farmer concerned
Who was it.... @SidProminent TFF member ( not me btw ) drives trade at Exeter straw sale today with barley reaching £15/128 acre..
Plenty of fields £115+ for barley.
Oats between £110 / £122 acre..
Wheat, most fields between £100 / £120 with one field at £125....
Who was it.... @Sid
its straw and its a price what more do you want on a price tracker threadThose sales are pretty meaningless in the scheme of things other than those farmers are making sure they have a secured supply
