Silage / Straw / Hay Price Tracker

  1. pretty sure the weather and shortages caused the high prices from the other year so no reserves carried over so effecting this years prices which are not as high thus coming down from last years prices will drop next year if the weathers/ right
    thought about it and your still wrong :p

    @Forage Trader what is wrapped hay in 80x70x150 bales worth? Nice and green.

    Straw has been £85 a tonne for that time

    They doing around £40 in auctions tad more in some .

    Forage trade very slow at 2 local sales.

    Round bale hay £25/26 bale.
    Anything but grade one silage around £22/26 round bale
    Straw selling a bit better with Round bale barley making £25 bale.

    Both sale's had approx 40% unsold.

    500 tonnes of maize withdrawn at around £32/34 ton.

    I didn't think there was much about here but silage/ hay seems to be coming out from somewhere and a lot more than I thought it would be given the low yields last summer!

    Defo more demand for straw at these two sales.

    I see stags have finally put their online sale live, a lot seems to have been pulled from the sale. Why do they include the lots, is it just to make it look like there are lots?

    What price is pit silage trading at? First cut no analysis decent gear though.
