Best field of mine so far 12/acre , worst 9/acre. Have heard of one doing 6/acre . All big 4's rounds. Mine is smashed up brittle straw in the bale but the 6/acre chap was lovely golden long straw.

Sounds a bit strong for this season
Some are struggling to get it into small bales due to it being smashed up. You have to go so fast to get it into the baler. There is plenty around here getting £2.20 for small bales of wheat but quite a few have given up trying to bale small and got the round baler in .

I guess every area is different.
Also around here the problem is they want the bales cleared even before you bale them . I baled 30 bales yesterday afternoon for a friend on 12 acres ..combine started at 3.45 finished by 5 I baled them and he was in the field clearing them . By 10 pm the field had been planted with OSR.!! .....

had oat straw in today, that weeks rain made a difference, reckon it will shatter when it goes through the blower! In our part of somerset, we are so dry, virtually everything here is being fed, dairy on forage rape, hay, silage +2kg rolled barley, good to know plenty of (cheap ?) fodder around !
