One guy who’s had a chunk off me is paying £250 backload cost to get 44 bales into wales. That’s about £11/t delivery cost. He’s paid me £70/t. That’s £81/t plus the baling and loading cost which he’s got a contractor looking after it for him. He said it’s cheaper than what he’ll end up paying via a merchant. And he pays before it’s collected.

We now selling it at £105/t. Buyer to collect. Full payment is made prior to collection. There’s no shortage of buyers that’s for sure.

Even in parts of Somerset I am told Valentines day is about half way through needed resources so I can't see it being any better further north
Was talking to some people on a call from the North West said their straw price was £100/t considerably less than the SW.
Guy in west Wales was paying over £150

Surely on a back load that's up to the wagon owner, he can charge whatever he wants, could do it for free if he wants.
He can do it for free yes . But I've been arranging back loads for 20 years and not had one to do it for free yet[emoji23]
But there is to much bad feeling in the job already
I've no idea where he lives or what part of Wales it went to but I can assure you it will be more than double that for the distance I do
I know quite a few that will do the run for £40/ton if thats any help
But not trying to start an argument just trying to give a fair idea of costs
