Overcooked, people want to sit on their hands at harvest, will be £75 to £80 into farm once the idiots have been supplied.Selling wheat straw to the trade at £140/t presently. They can’t get enough of it and some are panicky to be honest. Opening bid for harvest 21 straw is already £80/acre in the swath so that’s £100/tonne by the time it’s baled and loaded onto trucks.
Will we get a discount due to higher feed prices?Perhaps it will be '70s prices
In the interest of fairness about two weeks ago I said how bad things are here, with stunted dieing crops but things have really turned a corner, might be a bit late for winter barley to be above average but wheat now looks superb, it got over a mega liquid scorch and a paloi check and is now flying, with some good sunshine soon it could be a very good year.Crops are looking fantastic from east to west

In many instances the SB will out yield the WB this year straw wise, lots of wet weather damage to headlands on heavier ground for WB.In the interest of fairness about two weeks ago I said how bad things are here, with stunted dieing crops but things have really turned a corner, might be a bit late for winter barley to be above average but wheat now looks superb, it got over a mega liquid scorch and a paloi check and is now flying, with some good sunshine soon it could be a very good year.
