Weather just could not be better for keeping stock outside , one blip ten days ago when we had heavy rain but the wind has dried it back up like it didnt happen. I cannot remember such a prolonged spell of good weather without drought conditions, corn and grass seeds locally all planted and up in perfect conditions and spuds, maize and apples harvested without all the usual ruts and mud . It must be going to knock straw and fodder prices even more than it was forcast too with the bumper crops for sale.

It’s been an amazing autumn for us. The last 2 years we where fill winter feeding half our sheep by now. I bought 550 lambs 5 weeks ago and they haven’t even started to graze what was grazed off this time last year, this is because we have been able to graze river meadows that would have been under water by September.

It’s a pleasure at the moment I must say.

No asked a few but they didn't go
I went for the forum of course . ;)
Straw was a difficult trade with the
indoor round bale looking from £10--£12 wheat for what was sold .
Outdoor even less.A lot of straw unsold.

The best of seeds hay and haylage sold well enough
but the second class stuff either failed to reach the reserve
or was bid low .Prices for rb silage ranged from £7 a bale bid to low £20s .

How did the round bale hay do? or was there none? Got some entered into the GTH sale on the 20th, with a reserve of £18 a bale because under that its really not worth doing. Especially since next year I reckon there might not be too much about because of this fertiliser thing.
