Is threshed hay worth feeding to sucklers? If so, at what money please? Been offered some around £40/t and thinking of putting it in the shed as insurance
All depends on how well it was made, i have had some that was ok for buffer autumn feed for sucklers and some that had less feed value than wheat straw. Its usually anything from a cheap to clear £5/bale up to about £12 /bale for rounds

Never having had anything to do with threshed hay I’m judging it against a conventional hay crop, which probably isn’t fair- this doesn’t have any nose, it’s obviously course and I can’t get far enough in to the bale to find any colour. I won’t be short of straw so don’t need to buy it based against straw but still seems cheap enough IF they’ll eat it?
