A bit more than it will be in a months time.
This is a better way of putting it .View attachment 1045756Voyce Pullin stranding straw sale, what if it was going to pee it down for a week? Seem very old fashioned to me.
But it's in the shed .....that's worth a lot !Maybe my shed full of wheat straw at £80/t will look dear come harvest?
If diesel stays high then baling/stacking and hauling will add fair amount per tonne onto the price!

I suppose if you buy knowing the arrangement then you are prepared to take the risk of it getting wet on a Sunday .
The vendor above doesn't ban Sunday work just aks to avoid if possible ....but I do know that before they combine they ring you up to make sure you can get it baled ...i.e. They won't combine your straw on a Sat afternoon if you can't get it baled . In fact they won't combine it any day if the weather is dodgy until till the straw purchaser has been contacted to make sure they can get it baled . ......can't be more 'Christian ' than that .
.....and I've even known them go out and stack up straw for a purchaser to save it getting wet.
There was some standing grass for sale I got my eye on 76 acres about 40 miles away I had a quick tot up on the calculator what it was going to cost me to get it home I got a bit of a surpriseMaybe my shed full of wheat straw at £80/t will look dear come harvest?

I had it reckoned up to a fair bit and it didn’t leave what would appear to be enough for the sellerIts costs a fortune....
Between £40-60 i heard but not first hand. About 1200 acres of extra standing wheat straw forsale in herefordshire i reckon this year. £40-60 is where it wants to be every year imo.
Doesn't look like there's going to much chopped around here .....long time since I've seen so much being auctionedBetween £40-60 i heard but not first hand. About 1200 acres of extra standing wheat straw forsale in herefordshire i reckon this year. £40-60 is where it wants to be every year imo.
Sounds ok at thatRound bale hay £26 a bale off the field. Top class . £11 up on the year. Offered that last night.
Prices were well down on the past couple years. Lots more entered. Can’t quote on the wheat but the barley on the first night averaged about £74, £70.54 on the second night. I’d say there were far more lots not making reserve & not sold compared to usual.Anyone know how the Sedgemoor straw sales went
