But that takes even more diesel to run. Hope you appreciate how much money we save you by not having to chop it. If you all could just run your combines when the straw is properly fit to bale & not just concentrate on the grain I expect we could call it quits.
Yeah can't wait for the added compaction ,trailer ruts, left over bales and
bounced cheques. 😂

Are they not awfully hard on fuel and leave a trail of chopped straw which takes a lot of nitrogen to break down and also encourages a lot of slugs . I could be wrong though…..
Ripe OSR straw is very brittle and disappears quickly .
Chose your crops and fields to chop and all will be ok. (y)
I'm going to chop OSR and spring barley if the weather turns nasty.
Bale most of the wheat ,oats and winter barley long stubble.

anything being ploughed or going spring barley min till can be ploughed here to our benefit. the joy of the combine going out of a chopped field is fantastic!

What did the lady arbour sale make tonight? Thats usually the dearest sale around herefordshire. I think on average so far straws back £20-30/ac compared to last yr
there are some deep pockets that go to that sale but probably the best crops in herefordshire
