Depends when it was closed. We have some to get yet that was shut up mid June just coming along nicely
Very true, ours was grazed until 2nd June, then 2cwt fert. Mown last Sunday/Monday baled Wednesday afternoon. Only a light crop but the quality is amazing. Will be having it tested in a month. Should be ideal for in lamb ewes and fresh calves sucklers.
Looks like I’ll be able too buy suckler style fodder at less than CoP again!

It must be a location thing. Around here there are loads of outfits that just produce bales. There is a BIG equine feed market around here, so that means a lot of fodder that isn’t quite up too scratch. We only make 1/4 at most of what we need ourselves. The rest we buy as we need it and there will be 1 year in 6 that it actually costs production price or a bit more. As long as I’ve got good gear made at home for the sheep I’m happy!
