Gone up a fiver already and told more to come due to the high oil price yet @Frank-the-Wool states wool is worthless on the beef tracker thread a day or so ago due to the low oil price..................................................

Crude is now just over $60 a barrel. It has been this price since 2017 and fell dramatically at the start of the pandemic when it became almost free.
For wrap manufacturers to blame the oil price is pushing it a bit as it has been well below $60 for the last 12 months!

Even more significant with oil price is the dollar to pound exchange rate which has gone from around $1.20 to $1.40 now. So in fact oil prices should have not risen so much!!

I've heard £6 a roll increase on 2020 prices and been told about a merchant that can't fulfil an order because the manufacturer won't release any more. Someone is trying to get the price even higher than it needs to be.

I think one manufacturer is steering the whole market upwards and really they need avoiding to catch a cold.

It's not the oil price driving wrap prices it the resin used as "stick" in plastics made in Spain I was told.

Its not just wrap its the same with other all other plastics. Brett Martin put up prices 18% 1st of April

Silotite has gone up to nearly £60 a roll around here up from below £55 last year. Luckily ordered a couple of extra pallets last year due to covid and brexit.
