Bugger, I've drilled all mine with the twin coulter and the standard tyre. We will see what happens!!!!
I did mine with the narrow coulter but standard wheels.
Was very pleased with the moisture retention.

Desperate for a rain now though - it's just standing still and getting hit by flea beetle!!
Hallmark going on later today hopefully.

The narrow wheels fit perfectly into the area carved out by the solo coulter, thats all, plus they go better in v damp going due to more clearance.

Yes, I do use the narrow coulters for OSR establishment.

The narrow wheels have been used for rape establishment by a number of customers the last two years, popular in eastern Europe. I think they suit the narrow coulters very well, giving perfect soil to seed contact for a very even and quick germination.

Found this video on my phone today of the machine drilling the field in the above photos.

Isn't the key point here that the chopped straw is moved slightly to one side of the seeded area? Somehow that always seems to be more successful, be it mzuri or subsoiler leg moving the straw to one side and leaving a track of soil for the seed.
