Sky+ box dead

As others have said, get one off ebay. Although you may be able to haggle with Sky, you will probably end up paying more in the long run to have the extra stuff Sky Q offers, which it sounds as though you don't want.
I bought a secondhand box for £5 and put put my card in it. I have since spent £10 on 2x new remotes (as a pair, also off ebay), as i tend to find that the remotes don't last forever.

Whenever Sky phone up, they still think I have the original white Sky+ box, even though I keep telling them I have the black hd box.

I quite like it now I have go used to it.

My only gripe is that the upstairs box takes a fair bit of waking up if you want to watch anything before 6am.

My daughter has one, dont know how many remotes they have had, and navigating is awful in my opinion

I'm a 'Platinum' sucker customer don't you know. Retentions have given me a new Sky Q box, with installation discounted to £20, and a fiver discount from my current (basic) package for 18 months.

I have Amazon Prime through an NVidia box, and while it's great for the price, the content is pretty limited imo.

How the software manages to stream from an iffy internet connection were Kodi app on the same box can struggle sometimes is beyond me.
