I have to laugh, cant watch TV in the Thunderstorm, but can get bloody good Internet. I think all the money Sky have - they need to sort their sh!t out..

Been all Villa, but their keeper carried the ball over the line and the technology didn’t say it crossed the line.
Well yes. Here's the Premier League's take on the incident:

Quote:
Aston Villa 0-0 Sheffield Utd (44 mins)

Oliver Norwood crosses a fre-kick in from a wide position. Orjan Nyland plucks it out the air but falls backwards towards his own goal. He falls into the side netting and the Blades players appeal - they think the ball is over the line. The referee allows play to carry on, indicating it didn't cross the line.

There's no chance it could be an error then - stupid of me to consider the possibility.

Guess the Premier League forgot to mention its latest Covid-19 precaution... the ball has to be at least 2m over the line for it to count...

Back to the O P for a minute
@Ukjay in a lightning storm I would be unplugging all the tv and phone sockets to avoid a spike anyway

I know people who do, I only turn the TV off if its on during a real bad storm.
I know they say to do so - but the way I see it, your home is one big bunch of wires, and you can't pull the wires out the wall to protect yourself.

Knowing my luck it would strike just as I was leaning behind the telly trying to waggle the plug out of the wall.
No, the tv can take one for the team.

Similar thoughts here. I've seen a house after getting hit by lightning - every wire in the house was a conductor and blew out the wall.

There's a reason why satellite TV gets knocked out in heavy rain. The wavelength of the signal is about the same size as the diameter of the average rain drop. The rain drops absorb the signal and reflect it, so it never gets to the LNB.
Not a lot of people know that (y)
