Slurry Grant Round 2

Has anyone managed to get through this? Various on farm problems have left ours to the last minute. Could find plenty of people to fill the paper form in (which took all of ten minutes) but no one wanted to touch doing the rest, site plans etc. Been trying to sort it this week and it's an utter nightmare.

I’m round 1, 18 months of planning now trying to get the paperwork done. This whole process is probably the biggest cockup DEFA have made. They changed the paperwork so mine is different to yours! NEare a nightmare and EA have been told to get their act together. I had an extension on the latest deadline because EA hadn’t done there part, on the same day I had an email from EA giving me 10 days to get the next lot in.

I am making progress and having at one point thought of chucking it in I am now staying with it just to annoy people. A few months ago of the 300 round 1 applications only 1 had actually seen cash. I have given up trying to do it all myself and have some help now which has been brilliant. I couldn’t have done it on my own.

I had a word with the chap who does my planning just and he can do my base map. Then I showed him what we'd been sent to get it all on one map and declared it impossible if you actually wanted to be able to read it, that or print it the size of a dinner table to get everything on. Mapping every guttering for example seems ridiculous.

Who have you got to work on it? Plenty keen to fill the boxes on the form and take the money but if you mention doing any of the supporting documents or leg work they make a funny noise then go quiet!

I use Kite for a few things and one of their financial consultants has been helping me. She has prepared or modified my supporting paperwork for the SSLDA form. Has also done some persuasion with the RPA which if it works will more than pay her fee. It was only an off hand comment that I made and she ended up helping a lot. Catchment sensitive were brilliant for my planning application, i wouldnt have it if they hadnt helped.

Just remember to put every gutter and where the water goes on the site plan. That's todays puzzle, had it all sent back for that.

Funnily enough that's today's puzzle here. A friend of a friend does computer mapping as part of their job and they've agreed to digitise my map, I keep emailing them scans of each layer!
