Hi. Does any of you run a remote one man slurry pump? If so does it work in every job or do you need bigger jobs to justify it? What do you do with plastic and string in the pump when it blocks?

Should itemise the removing string on the invoice separately I'd have thought. Some farms cant be worth bothering with sometimes.

Thanks @mtx.jag
Dairy farm I look after, we bought our own tramspread pump - very pleased. Probably take a bit longer to pay off than I thought as the farm tractor isn’t as available For spreading as hoped so have to stick one of ours on sometimes.
floodwash system so haven’t had problems with string - (gets wrapped in a pump else where first). Undulating terrain but remote signal is excellent. Couple of engine issues early on but tramspread werevery good. Overalll very happy- one man operation. get slurry spread when we want not when someone can get here, ability to drop on and doa few grazing paddocks when a contractor would want full day minimum

Does the pump really work on it own with out any hassle? How far would you be pumping normally?

Yes. We have divert pipe so the pump can divert back to tank instead of pumping down the line and that and engine revs are controlled from the tractor as can engine start/stop and set engine revs. The only thing we havent done yet is get a comppressor wired up so we can statr/stpr the compressor and set it to blow through from the tractor - we have the wiring harness but not bought a compressor yet. Furthest we pump here would be 1500m but not line of sight- buildings, hills etc in the way. Yes, very happy with how it performs.
