Slurry tank expansion

Is there any grants available to expand our existing slurry tank in northern ireland. We have a double sided slatted cattle shed. The plan is to knock through the end wall in each tank at the same side and connect up the 2 tanks with 1 big tank.

Thanks in advance

sounds a good idea but with out knowing the size all i would say is under the last grant scheme we did 100x3x8 with centre walls and 6 mixing points. Great tank, just wish it was 3 separate tanks as i could mix one tank at a time and not loose as much time, could also sort out slurry better, ie watery stuff and thicker stuff.

No grants that i know of and after the last grant tanks could have been done for nearly half the price of a grant tank so maybe be no big advantage, price it up and see, dont forget to ask permission.

Would there be anything available in NI for extending a tank outside a shed under the guise of safety reasons?
Got a 2 bay tank in a 3 bay shed. It dad put in when things were starting off but I'd like to extend it outside the shed if possible. Would have more storage, less risk when agitating, and no need for the tractor to be on the slats.

Not that I'm aware of. Id like to do the same thing. For the same reason that I don't want to tackle the work myself is the same reason no sane contractor would touch it. They would only give a tail light guarantee - tying into an old tank more hassle, problems and issues than a new one.

Yeah, settling of the extension would be a big concern.
Shame as with the way the weather is going, more capacity is needed.
