Sly Open Day 2018

For those that may be interested we have an Open day on the 29th May 2018 at our farm at PE12 0RU, Lincolnshire.

Mike Harrington from Edaphos and Philip Wright from Wrights resolutions will be attending and speaking about the work they have done on our farm in helping us in our transition to no-till or much "less-till".

We started a conversion to no-till last year and we are on majority heavy clay silts (50% clay+), we have an awful lot to learn.

The day is not solely focused on our products but also a day for interested farmers to learn and discuss about the pros and cons of reducing tillage, lowering costs, improving soil health, biodiversity and profitability. We hope to learn as much form our visitors as they will from us!

Our Boss drill will be operating as well as our Stripcat strip cultivator. We will be showing our Maize and Sugar Beet which has been established between an inter-row cover crop using strip till, as well as no-till wheat and Triticale.

All registrations have to go through our website link and this entitles you to a free lunch which is being provided by Moor Farm Shop (a local farmer).

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
