First put a spanner on the twine disc worm [9] nut gently move it back and forth it will tell you how much wear there is between [6] cam and [7] pinion if it's a lot slacken pinch bolt on right side near brake disc then remove the bolt from centre of shaft should have small shims behind large washer remove these and refit bolt and washer and gently tighten a bit at a time this will pull the shaft through the cam gears and lessen the amount of movement between 6 & 7, remove pin's or bolt's retaining knotter frame's {5] to bale chamber lift up Watch your finger's they should gently drop under their own weight, if ok tighten pinch bolt first then remove end bolt and fit just enough shims to be flush with arm then refit washer and bolt [ tip put removed shims under head of bolt so you don't loose them], check string guides for wear these will be ceramic interchange them so string runs on a fresh surface [ don't over-tighten or they will break] , check needle slot's if badly worn i fit roll pins or they can be built up with hard braze, try all this first then try and if still faulty show a knot tied or untied.. so i know what is wrong..
