So why are so many vaccinated people getting Covid?

You do realise that the UKHSA's own data shows that in adults the vaccinated are more likely to be infected now than the unvaccinated? And that the raw numbers of cases in the vaccinated are many times that of cases in the unvaccinated, because there's lots more vaccinated people than unvaccinated? If anyone is spreading covid, its the vaccinated.

Those numbers would appear to be relatively meaningless. In the part of the population where vaccination is extremely high, then the highest number of cases is among the vaccinated. In the part where uptake is lowest, the number is highest in unvaccinated.

NB
Just did a couple of quick sums. From that table, case rate in 0-18 year olds is 2.85%. In 70-79 it's 0.63%. Even I was slightly surprised the difference was so large. Particularly considering that a large number of kids, especially primary, will not be identified.

Definitely seems to be another recommendation for vaccination...

Prevalence in different age groups is regularly published as part of the ONS infection survey and roughly line up with these numbers.
It's true that looking at either end doesn't show much other than prevalence..kids mix more than old people.
In the age groups where is more balanced vaccinated against unvaccinated, you would explain the numbers how?
Also, cases of a harmless virus(for kids) do not support a vaccination campaign for them as the JCVI said.
