Was watchin barnwood builders other mornin and noticed they had a jcb hired with solid wheels. Obviously it wouldnt be as comfortable as tyres with air but would they not be good job as no punctures, could regrove them. What price are they? Any1 runnin them?

Once saw a fork truck on a farm on solids, was only two wheel drive, if they got a wheel in a pothole it could spin the tyre on the rim, I'd imaging the more it happened it would wear the tyre where it gripped the rim and make it worse.

Having said that I believe the local timber firms sideloaders ran on solids.

No they are awfull things! Ruff as and shakes machines to bits. To be Avoided at all costs unless on flat concrete in waste industries.

Absolutely agree with above. I have 2 JCB 550-80’s running on them in waste transfer stations. Wastemaster spec so drivetrain, gearbox etc are different from the standard machine, only 3 speed box and max 20kph to suit these wheels. They don’t move off site so ideal for the job but no use on a farm.

We had a Cat IT 38 on hire on the compost for a while on solids .It was ok on the concrete but useless off it as trying to load the bucket the tyre's did not flex and kept a narrow profile and spun/ sunk and soon clogged up we think it may have been a ex steelworks machine :)
