Does anyone have any experience of Solis PV inverters in terms or reliability ? I've had quote for an 8KW PV system proposing to use a Jinko 430w panels and Solis 1P inverter , I know some inverters can give problems but I'm not sure what the reputation of these Solis units are
We have a bigger PV system with 5 SMA inverters on it that has had no inverter issues at all in 10 years so we have been perhaps lucky , the Solis unit has 5 year guarantee that can be extended to 10 for £60 that seems like a good idea but but ideally it wont break before then anyway !
any one had any experience good or bad ?

Pay for the longer warranty.

We have a Solis inverter to replace one that went pop after 9 years.

Only installed Summer 2022 so too soon to say.

The only issue with extended warranties is, will the company be around in 10 years time to honour it?
i have heard good reports of Solis though.
to be fair to manufacturers I have found most issues have arisen from external issues, such as lightning strikes or other gris voltage issues

I have 13 Fronius inverters all now out of warranty but have only spent a few hundred in repairs we had multiple issues but all down to a lightning strike for one and overvoltage on the other 5 Which were linked. The only other issues which were out of warranty have been very minor and it is engineers call out which is the big cost generally

Their a budget manufacturer but a big firm so likely to stay around if/when issues arise. Always extend the warranty for sure. 👍

I replaced a samil 4kw inverter which persistently tripped the rcd when voltage got high with a Solis S6 and it's been rock solid ever since installing. Basic interface but does the trick.

When an inverter fails is it repairable ?

I would guess that if they have a relatively short life time - then I do wonder if preventative maintenance/component replacement might work before failure

Some makes are such as Fronius but I guess that these newer ones such as Solis are so cheap it is hardly worth it.
We vhave several Fronius entering their 13th year nebver had any work done and those which have, it is generally because of external issues such as power surges

2010 system here with 6 sunny tripower inverters. We’ve now replaced 3 of them with solis and they’ve been fine. Went with solis as our local service guy swears by them.
