Thankyou @llamedos for the move.
Hope you had a good week off :)

I'm just walking home, have been out chipping thistles and talking to my steers

Sun's just gone down, and my boots are soaked from the dew.

About 60 days in, we have flowers
In front here, is the best of it, more grass I think has helped it retain moisture better as we have had a dry start ton
the season, less than half of the usual for the last couple of months.
So, hopefully we can get some more wet stuff and get them all waist deep before the pods come.. I assume in a wetter cooler year they would be a better crop but it is what it is, have to try these things!

Jezus you didnt hold back! even 250kg !!! well it looks like it might pay - is seed cost dear?

Ant...
Sorry didn't get an alert - no the seed was free as I do a bit of work for a grain guy up the road, and swept out his silo etc.
Not too sure what the going rate would be for a ton of seed.

Would have been a good crop if we'd had some decent rain, 73 days since sowing.
Pods are coming on, so will get in touch with the baler man this week and likely bale soon..

get it cut poorer grass in the will bring feed value back
looks like a bitch of a year rain wise make hay while sun shines
Yes I rang and booked in my mate to come and bale it soon as possible
Looks like some rain coming this week so will mow as soon as there's a window, lots of liquid inoculant and we'll wrap it with Crystal- that new clear film.
Then I can see any pinholes and tape them up so I don't get mouldy bits.
Will likely just cart them back and wrap in the yard, be 30 bales at least?
2.2 hectares.
