Soya hulls through in parlour?

I run a mix
Thinking of running soya hulls through in parlour. It’s a augar system. Does anyone else currently do this? Bit nervous if will run ok.
I run a mix of of rolled barley and soya hulls through the augers in the parlour no problem . Soya hulls on their own should run no bother but tend to be very dusty .

No idea what the price of sugar beet pellets are compared to soyahulls but you would get zero dust from supaflow. Soya hulls tend to be very dry and so can fragment and be a touch dusty but nothing like other feeds can be.

We’ve feed tonnes and tonnes of the stuff through an ebi auger system no issues. Your main issue will be rejection by about 5% of the herd which occasionally lead to blocked down pipes until we shortened them.

How do people find getting smaller blown loads of straights? Normally merchants want to send 29t tipped loads, and there is some teeth sucking if you ask for 9t blown. Or should I just get a huge bin, like 60 cube?

A good feed company will manage it but you will pay a premium for the haul.

Not all straights like being in a bin.

mixed soya hulls+palm kernel in bin but same problem, , got a blend instead of nut and it would not run but no problem with straights, you can get anti lodging devices for bin, can you get a blower and hopper to fill bin from full load stored in shed or outside under cover as in stored in NZ

Back when I fed in the parlour I made a v shaped sump in the ground with the auger drawing out of it,I then filled it with the loader with home mix, never bought a part load of straights as the saving is in getting a full artic load.

Not keen on blowing any straights as it ends up as dust,I’m currently buying distillers off H Walton’s based over near hull all there trucks have blowers on.
