They've gone up a lot in price! I was quoted around the £1,600 mark for manual control and £1,800 for automatic control variable pitch units from Cleanfix (Desert Engineering). Admittedly that was over 3-years ago. Never bothered, just blow out.

Horrendous money, that was fitted etc, the button is in the cab, just need all the rest! Not sure how well it would actually clean the rads, surely it'll never blow it out of the fins as well. I dunno, wish I'd thought about it when I ordered the tractor.

Think the one I started the thread about is guaranteed to cut stuff up to 10 inches tick.
The rad blocking would be a serious issue with a front mounted one even with them on the back it's an issue.
Surely someone has cut rushes with one and can tell me if it cuts the wheelings.

Think that would be optimistic, even for a fixed tooth forestry flail. The spec says 5" / 125mm which is about right for this type of flail/rotor.

I have bought one. Great topper - until after three days work I found a load of oil on the shed floor. I thought perhaps it was a front oil seal, but when I got it off the tractor on Friday night I found the gearbox was cracked!
Might be an interesting conversation with my Spaldings rep in the morning.

How did you fare out after?

I run a browns 2.5 on the front and very rarely need to get out to clean the rad on my puma. Only ever had trouble in real short mossy stuff that went like dust when you’re cutting it. I bought a browns on the fact that it looked well built and saw a local lad pretty much using one as a stone crusher but I did have the rotor replaced last week on warranty as it snapped. I’m going to change for one of these Cancela toppers. Heard good reviews about them and I’m doing around 700acre a year for various different peopleView attachment 828812

How are people finding the TMC if they are still running them? Thinking of one for the front. Interested to hear approx fuel usage on rushes, shorter grass etc. What sort of job do they make on shorter grass such as playing fields etc?
