Sprayer shed and store.

I don't think we were going to bother with a biobed in the end, it's probably not a justifiable cost on our acreage, just an underground tank to be emptied onto stubbles at the end of the season, if that's legal. Although all ideas subject to change at this stage.

Is the sealant something you've painted onto the walls or an additive in the concrete?

There should be a CSF chap coming to give advice at some stage but he's not responded as yet.

As far as I understand the base of the walls are glued into the concrete using the same stuff they use for slurry lagoons.

More work on it today, decided the chalk wall of this lean to wanted pulling out while there's room to get a digger in, and cut the concrete out for the posts and dug the holes.

Bit more done today, as novices we got the rafters on this end section the wrong way round to hang the door lintel from, then when we bolted the door lintel up it made the ridge bow outwards, which we didn't notice until we'd got 3 purlings up....

Anyway the lintel now has washers as spacers between it and the upright post and all is well...

Hi Dan not trying to be funny but would take of the pic of the roof being done, I have just finished putting up a new shed and had a visit from HSE because of no roof nets or side safety rail, luckily by the time the got to me the roof was done so we just blagged it and they said without proof ie photos they would have to drop it, just had a stern letter not to do it again.

Shed looks good tho, are you going to insulate it, we are doing the sprayer bay, trying to source some more cheap insulation

What picture?! ;)

That's the second time today I've been advised that my posts have been too 'honest' must show more care.

Was going to insulate, need to do more homework on that, got a quote for 60mm celotex insulation and it came out at about £3k, I don't know if that's the right thickness or not though.

Have obtained some second hand stuff and some "seconds", however not all those who sell seconds actually sell it cheaper than "first grade stuff, we used liner sheets on the roof and used 170mm fibre glass for that, lining the walls with rigid stuff of all sorts, anything over 50ish mm would be fine I reckon,

Looking good, did you just sit the concrete wall on some blocks or something? We were wondering about this, we think we'll lay the floor first and then pour a 250mm wall to meet the bottom of the sheets. Insulation wise still not sure, you can buy a lot of antifreeze for the cost of it!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
