I thought I'd resurrect this old thread thinking their might be a few more people that have moved up to 36m,just wondering what products/manufacturer's you are using as there is not a lot of info out there for these widths.
The books will be opening soon for the new season so I want to make sure i get the right product
Just changing spreader to a KV Geo spreader with section control for next season.
Jesus my sprayer wasn't much more than that so I'm not going to blow another 60k on a used spreader. Can get a second hand one for 60k from Europe. Can also use them for avadex, slug pellets, cover crops etc. I think if you are really pushed doing all liquid and spraying with one sprayer (1500ha +) a second hand one could offer some great flexibility. Spinning discs are a load of rubbish I can see terrible striping on numerous farms around here at 24m and it happens every year!
Are you thinking of H Discs?Spread a few different ureas at 36 with a bredal with 42m discs (think they are k discs). Tray testing is essential, took 11 passes over the trays for one urea S product to get an acceptable pattern but was enough to put me off having any more. Spread straight urea no issues so buy in bulk . Also spreading a lot of gypsum so don't need the sulphur anymore.
Completely agree, we are on 32m and MOP beyond 30m is a stretch, as we only use it after spuds on wheat and a low dose on OSR not really an issue, that's with a double overlap on a KRM, so forgiving. On wider tramlines there is no way we would have the the timeliness required to apply solid N accurately other than as a liquid. Have to remember that striping only show's when CoV is greater than 20%.TSP no bother, MOP is a real stretch at 32 m and when we switch to 36 m in the Autumn we will split the tramlines at some point in the year. Nitrogen had to be liquid or boom spreader at 36 m IMHO
