Managed to grab a couple of very long days last week and got oats and beans in, did spring barley end of February.

Barleys emerged now and looks better than expected, with having far too much rain since drilling.

Still have 120ac spring beans to get in for neighbouring farms, fingers crossed this next week, should be on today but have kids all weekend.

Must be very different at opposite ends of the country ! Another 12 mm overnight and looking at the forecast it’s unlikely any drilling is likely until mid April around here, we were finished March 4th though, thankfully !!

I think extra soil,I was working along side drill and it looked very level

Still half my drilling to do here. Nearly 4" rain this month & standing water in many fields now.

Nothing in soil but the germ test for my fss is doing well. Nice day here today but rain most days for the rest of the week so will have to wait a bit longer.

Spring barley getting its last N dose today,got finished drilling 10th Feb,mind I've got to start again with failing OSR+ Sugar beet,couple neighbours started drilling beet today.

ajd132 I can honestly say I have never pre emd my spring barley for all the years I've grown it.

Depends on your farm, but we use it on heavier land here.

Sorts out AMG. Just did headlands for a start but extra yield and straw means we do it all now.

Don't bother on light land.

Hope to start S.Oats end of week or early next.Was flat out lambing during the dry spell in Feb and now the ground is pretty wet,also we have some ewes/lambs on some of the ground grazing a Westerwold which needs spraying off when sheep have finished itl
