Starter (JCB 8014) ignition connection continuity

This follows on from a previous thread ref: the starter on my JCB 8014. I've identified that the problem probably lies with my ignition switch, which I'm about to replace. Before doing this, I wanted to check the continuity on the ignition wire (this checks out fine) but I also found continuity between another wire on the ignition switch loom and the ignition wire. Just wanted to make sure that there is no short (that could have been causing my initial problem). Why would there be continuity between starter ignition wire and another wire?

Have you checked the wire to the starter and also the large multi pin plug under the dash? (The latter can be accessed through the rear hood on the right.).

No, I haven't checked the multi pin plug. I'll do that. I've checked the wire to the starter all the way through with a continuity check from the ignition barrel connector to the end of the starter wire where it connects to the starter motor. I got continuity. It's just that there is also continuity to the starter wire from another wire on the ig. barrel connector. I don't know what this is and why there would be continuity.... I've got a wiring diagram for the digger but I wonder if there is a wiring diagram for the ignition barrel connectors and/or the multi pin plug?
