Steel buildings for dairy farm

Hi,

I am planning to start a dairy farm in Ontario. I have been suggested to use pre-engineered steel buildings because they are cheaper and saves time for construction.

However, I am not really sure about this idea because I have not heard about steel buildings being used for farms. But from my research online I found that steel buildings are used for dairy farms. They are long lasting, durable and backed by industry leading warranties.

So I am looking for a steel building manufacturer in Ontario. If anyone knows any such companies, please help me.
Also, what would be the average cost of set up? And what type of foundation is normally used for this? Looking forward to your suggestions.

Thanks.

I would imagine snow load would be your biggest concern in ontario, I assume this is cows were talking about?

Plus insulation.

IIRC, Canadian barns are very high spec because of the cold weather.

Assuming the OP isn't a WUM, then how about searching online OR even more radically, actually visiting a few Ontario dairy farms to look at their set ups

I worked for a scotsman who moved to Canada and put up a steel framed cow house when he first went over. He said it was a waste of money and had built timber after that. Where are you in Ontario @declan
