Whilst France follows the EU rules on VAT compliance, it is still free to set its own standard (upper) VAT rate.

We're not failing, you seem seem to associate the word "control" with a reduction in immigration.
The government (the electorate) is responsible/has control over what happens at our borders.

I brought my sky box with me so still watch uk news (mistake I know), but we must be watching different programs as it doesn’t seem a raging succèss. Moor up large barge, loads of complaints , put a few immigrants on after much protesting… have to take them off again for a few week, start to put them back on again. Non stop moaning about rubber boats.
i never said anything about “reduction”, but management of your borders seems to leave something to be desired by much of the population.
I am, however, pleased that you are satisfied 👍

I am 100% satisfied that the elected politicians at Westminster are now accountable/, responsible for this.

That gets decided at elections.

You starting to understand how this works now?

i can’t really agree with that at all. Some things are popular or not, all the time, not just at elections, for example- vaccines for c.19 were popular, without an election. I can see that on some issues, an election gives an illustration of popularity.

Are you starting to understand this popularity thing yet?

You don't think that people consider whether they like what politicians have done and say they will do, at elections?

Vaccines for c19 were popular so they were recommended and given, then people started refusing them so they stopped being recommended.

Who would be interested in forming a coalition with them though?

In the unlikely event that they do manage to secure any seats at all, it will only be because the Tory numbers have been reduced to double figures. They will not be big enough to form a coalition govt with anyone, and nobody else would touch Tice’s toxic lot with a barge pole.
Look at Netherlands. Toxic, venomous, dog whistling, one trick pony, Wilders got enough seats, to theoretically make him PM.
Six months later, he hasn’t garnered enough parliamentary support to form a government, never mind become PM.
It’s reassuring to know, that there are guard rails in place, to keep the dog whistlers on a strong leash.

Yep, we do, you still not understanding this sovereignty thing are you?
Good heavens! VAT rates? Simpleton Paddy himself, is able to vary VAT rates on different sectors, to suit the prevailing economic conditions.
One surely would expect those bright educated scholars out of Eton, to have also been able to get it done within the EU, never mind now that they are not alone “sovereign”, but advised by none other than @Danllan himself.

That's quite a compliment, if you attribute government advice to me on things I care about here, can we place responsibility for the ROI's World-leading and internally loved immigration policy on you?

You could say I was being tounge in cheek.
I for one do not think they will get anymore than 1 MP, but of course I may well be wrong.
And yes there is only one party that will go into coalition with them, the very same Conservative and Unionist party that is apeing Reform from time to time. The irony being the more they do it they're it damages their prospects.
The gun has not even gone yet but after its predecessor UKIP choose not to stand against the Brexiteers types then one could see a similar move again on say some other strange reason one way migration or something who knows?
After all it is no cheap contesting an election with limited resources if nothing else.
The reform candidates on a whole will be paying their own contests I presume as thats what it was like in ukip in the past.

Central party hq would provide stuff like corex boards and more of a national campaign.
But candidates funded their own campaigns.

Uk was not lied to.
Just the politicians never wanted brexit and have never truly tried to make it work.
May especially was a disaster. Most mps spent months if not years after the vote trying to find a way to reverse it and so not make it work.

You yourself have pointed out stuff like custom control which uk had not got sorted. That's purely bad leadership, nothing to do with brexit.

Brexit was bad leadership.
Call me Dave, abandoned the bridge, and good ship GB floundered on the rocks.
Eight years later, the wreck is still in situ, with alarming evidence of sever corrosion.
